A CHARITY for deaf children is launching its new activity space at the weekend.
Lollipop (York & District) is opening the centre, called HQ, in the Minster Building in Lowther Street, York, on Saturday, June 10.
Using a Big Lottery Fund grant, the charity is providing a deaf-friendly activity space which is fully equipped with activities for the children like pool, table tennis and computer games. There is also a café and a parents’ zone. Launch day will see children aged nine to 13 attend an afternoon activity session where they will be able to meet other deaf and hearing impaired children.
