Despite overwhelming odds that have been working against her in life, author Dawnelee Wright has persevered at almost all turns.
Wright was born blind, with a heart defect, struggled with mental health and has most recently lost her hearing. But despite all the adversity, Wright hasn’t let it consume her, and is now the proud author of the memoir A Better A Sense of Self.
Wright and her family were at Chapters on Saturday for a book signing to unveil her latest work. “There’s not many individuals who know about deaf-blindness,” Wright said.”I’m trying to find some positivity, and all the good things in life that can still come with disabilities.”
Wright said her memoir covers more than just aspects related to disability.
